Stories from my Sketchbook . . .
I thought I might try to atone for the sugar-salt-fat laden excesses outlined in my last post and throw some love out there to the humble vegetable.
Jim Davis’ suggestions seem like a sensible place to start . . .

I think definitely an age thing – who cares who thinks what about what you do, do what you love and love doing it. I do enjoy your sketches (even if it doesn’t matter what I think!!!).

Hi Skip – I had no idea you were this talented. Did you ever do this in the old days?

Hi Lizzie-mu. I used to draw quite a lot when I was a kid and then it just fell by the wayside and I didn’t do any for years and years. I always used to worry that nothing was good enough and I was wasting my time. Now that I have started up again I find I am just doing it and enjoying it and not worrying so much about whether it’s good or bad. Maybe it’s an age thing . . . 🙂

Since you are having time off I expect to see more of these when you return to work. I enjoy all of them and have a new respect for your talents. Vee

Thanks Vee – but I only have a couple of days off and most of that already seems to be taken up with chores that I haven’t been able to do while working. 😦 Still, hope to get some sketching in and will share if any of the sketches are any good.

I love your sketches Sal – there is so much attention to detail. I would have got over it & given up although, come to think of it, I wouldn’t have even known where to start!

Thanks Pam. I prefer working on the more detailed sketches – I find them much more satisfying than quick sketches. Most of the time when I look back I can’t even tell what some of quick sketches were supposed to be. 😦 Definitely need more practice at those.
